Design of the assessment
At the beginning of the course, students will learn about the different awards they can earn in order to successfully complete the course. These awards are connected to the course goals. For each award is described which criteria must be met in order to earn the award. Students can determine in how long and what order they work on this. As long as they have earned 15 out of 20 awards at the end of the course.
Creating an online assessment
There is a list in Brightspace of all of the awards students can earn in this course. For each award, there is an assignment where students can upload the evidence showing they deserve the award. The text box describes which criteria students have to meet in order to get the award. A rubric can be linked to every assignment to explain the criteria the lecturer uses for assessment of the evidence. When the criteria are met, the lecturer assigns the award. Lecturers and students will be able to see how many awards they have at any given moment.
