Design of the assessment
The assessment takes two hours in total and consists of two components. Students first have to answer seven knowledge questions, which they will be able answer if they have studied the material. These questions contain variables that might differ, meaning that there are several versions of every question. The questions will be offered to the students in a random order. The assessment ends with an essay question. This essay question contains multiple layers. Preparation of the material is crucial to finish the knowledge questions quickly enough to have enough time left for the essay question. Students are allowed to discuss the questions or use other sources, but this will take time that can also be spend on the essay question.
Creating the online assessment
The assessment will be offered in the Quiz tool in Brightspace. The tool will randomly assign questions to different students. When assessing, lecturers will both see the answer given by the student and the answer model that belongs to that question. This way, lecturers can easily provide feedback and assess the quiz.
